The stalwart partisan claims the info could compromise the lives of soldiers in the field, but that of course is a lie and it really has to do with him being deathly afraid of the political effects a Hollywood blockbuster could have on the 2012 elections. The White House said the assumption is “ridiculous” and King has already fired back with more blather.

Here is President Obama ripping Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (9:37) Saturday night. And he wasn’t the only one. SNL’s Seth Meyers also gave the disgraceful TV show host a ribbing (12:05) that was more than well deserved.

He’s also not going to have the propagandist assistance of the graphic designer who created one of the most iconic political images ever for his 2008 campaign. I emailed Shepard Fairey to see if the White House reached out to him about doing something for 2012. “They have not contacted me. I doubt they will,” he wrote back.

The artist didn’t want to elaborate, but between the fallout from the AP lawsuit and more importantly, his consistent criticism of the president, even before Obama was sworn in and on subsequent occasions, this isn’t all that surprising, but is emblematic of the uphill battle he faces and how he won’t have the support of the people who helped get him to the top last time around.

On the flip side, being that Republicans have made it impossible to accept one of their candidates as a viable option, people like Shepard, me and the rest of the left will end up voting for Obama anyway. Still, it won’t be as easy without a good visual.

And so far it’s working. There’s a hugely unreasonable amount of people on the right who are willing to adopt this as a fact, despite the certification of live birth and the birth announcements in two Honolulu newspapers. Without a doubt, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii, which although exotic, is still very much a part of the United States. So what is he so embarrassed of? He’s only making the 2012 campaign that much harder to win and by the time Election Day comes around, may even have Independents in blue states calling him a Mau Mau radical.

Personally, we haven’t heard too much from the “Obama is a Muslin” contingent lately, but maybe that’s because a. we haven’t been proactive in seeking them out, and b. we’ve been too busy doing other things?

Whatever the case, we’re heartened to see that the next generation is picking up the baton from their teabagging elders and exploring 2008′s top superstition in innovative ways. Par example: Check out this video discovered by the folk(s?) at Show Christ’s Love, in which some youngsters try to save the president from, uh, Christianity, by praying all over a cardboard cutout of Him him. Obama needs a “life turnaround,” one of the kidd’ohs says.

Wonder if it worked. Guess we’ll know if Obama stops praying at mosques and starts going to church.

Mr. Obama is only the latest in a long line of Democratic presidents, going back to Franklin D. Roosevelt, to disappoint the liberal wing of his party and to at least hear rumblings of a challenge. In 1960, the hipster John F. Kennedy represented for liberals something similar to what Mr. Obama embodied as a candidate; two years later, the writer Norman Mailer acidly concluded that Kennedy stood for nothing but the pursuit of power, “without light or principle.”

What was so “hipster” about JFK? Did he listen to lots of jazz records and do bennies in some cold-water flat? Did he have a friend named Neal Cassady and write lengthy poems about “America”? Or did he fashion himself in the manner of a modern-day “hipster,” with all that entails (which isn’t totally clear!)? No, Daddy-O–he did none of these things.
