Seeing photos of camo-painted Batmobiles on the set of the Dark Knight Rises is one thing, but seeing video of them actually moving is an experience all to itself. Anyway, just like other motor vehicles in NYC, the Tumblers have horns and similarly, their drivers aren’t afraid to use them.

Security was tight on Wall Street as choruses of loud shouts echoed through the air and angry mobs clashed with police. No this wasn’t an Occupied Wall Street march, it was the filming of en epic battle scene for the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film is scheduled to shoot near Wall Street for 14 days this month and the protesters camped out at Zuccotti Park aren’t going anywhere… or are they? The LA Times had speculated that OWS would be incorporated into the film — ’cause Gotham’s all torn with chaos and civil unrest, dig? — but the New York Times confirms that Warner Bros has no plans to shoot the occupiers. Heritage Auctions is selling production proofs from a 1939, first-ever Batman comic book. Pages 2-6 will go for $1,000+ each. Such swell “luck” that someone found them in the trash in 1975! Well, not in the trash… in a trunk full of DC stuff. It was left by some random guy on the curb for trash pick-up, by a building in Rego Parks, Queens… Well, maybe not a completely random guy, since Bob Kane lived in that building at some point. No, it’s not suspicious at all.
Wikipedia, the 5th most visited website on the internet is approaching its 10 year anniversary and so founder Jimmy Wales appeared on the Daily Show Wednesday night. He restated his promise to keep the site free of banner ads and fielded questions from Jon Stewart about how easy it would be to edit his page and make him Batman. Wales acknowledged that Stewart’s entry could be changed, but probably won’t last more than five minutes. He was right. Read more »

Photos can’t properly convey the profanity-laced struggle that ensued when cops tried to arrest an unruly Superman wannabe, so luckily video footage has surfaced. Last week, the costumed character took off running when police handcuffed his friend, dressed as Batman, after they asked him for some permit he didn’t need and then ID he didn’t have. Despite screaming, “I’m not getting arrested,” the Superman performer was tackled to the ground and eventually taken into custody, but not without a tussle first.
