As if that wasn’t enough, our very own art editor got walloped by a car (while walking), and is experiencing some similar issues outlined in the article.

Now, there’s this letter obtained by Gothamist from an attorney representing the family of Mathieu Lefevre, a 30-year-old artist who died when he was hit by a truck while riding his bike and dragged by a driver who left the scene of the accident, and wasn’t even cited for a traffic infraction. And it’s no wonder why. The detective looking into the case was not only lazy about gathering evidence, but also incompetent throughout the entire process. Read the shocking details here that speaks volumes. But things didn’t go as smoothly as they did in Harlem, with some area business owners denouncing the plan.
