Unlike the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, the media is taking an active interest in BP’s oily invasion of the Gulf Coast and various news outlets have dispatched reporters across the region. But there has been one consistently frustrating obstacle hampering their efforts: access.

Numerous reports have surfaced of BP-hired security firms and local law enforcement, refusing to allow journalists into certain areas, for one ridiculous reason or other. But it was the Cajun Boy, writing under his government name, who managed to squeeze the following line of bullshit out of a BP spokesperson: “There have been restrictions placed on photography in the wildlife area because we’ve been told that it could do harm.” And the last thing BP wants to do is harm the wildlife! |Photo: Charlie Riedel/AP Photo via|

Perhaps you’ve seen Sarah Palin farting around the country to promote her retarded manifesto, Going Rogue. To get around, Trixie Klondyke’s been allegedly traveling by bus, like a “real American,” so she could see the poor whites wallowing in the cornfields and whatnot, but it now appears as though that, like all things Palin, is a total load of bullshit.

She’s actually been flying around in a fancy, elitist private jet!

Yes, much has been made of the fact that Palin would be touring the country in a bus bearing the image on the cover of her book. To further promote this charade, Palin’s been tweeting and Facebooking “from the road,” as well as giving interviews to her media favorites on the bus. But it appears as if the thing’s been merely a prop all along.

Reports the Daily Beast:

As first reported by the Alaskan blog Palingates, she’s apparently been aboard UJT750, the Gulfstream American twin-jet that she first boarded at Westchester County airport shortly after noon on November 18, bound for Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the first stop on her tour…the plane’s goings and comings track Palin’s tour perfectly: from Grand Rapids to Washington, Pa. and then to Rochester, N.Y., Roanoke, Va., Fayetteville, N.C., Birmingham, Ala., and Jacksonville and Orlando.

On November 25, the plane carried Palin, her parents, her two youngest children and her Aunt Katie to Pasco, Washington, for Thanksgiving. And there it sat, at Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco, for four full days, which is a lot of inactivity for a plane that rents for more than $4,000 an hour. But it was Thanksgiving weekend and the Pasco-Richland area was where Palin wanted to be.

Palin apparently returned to New York Sunday night. At least UJT750 was scheduled to take off from Tri-Cities at 6:55 p.m. EST with an 11:30 p.m. arrival at Teterboro, N.J., anticipated. Her next signing is not until Thursday, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Presumably, she’ll fly to Fayetteville and then board her bus again for the short ride to the local Sam’s Club. Presumably, she’ll also fly over the much greater distances that separate the stops on the western half of her tour, which stretches from Dallas to Minneapolis.

Of course, Palin’s death-cult followers will ignore all of this and claim it as another example of the liberal media trying to destroy her, so all of this is sort of pointless I suppose. Regardless, here’s video someone got of Palin getting off of her plane in North Carolina so she could meet Jesus for tea.

Hey remember the other day when Lou Dobbs claimed that some dirty Mexicans managed to put down their chalupas and Meximelts, rustled up some fancy firearms and then proceeded to shoot up his house, because that’s what dirty Mexicans do, obviously. During his little radio tirade, during which Lou of course came to logical conclusion that it just had to be people pissed at his efforts to end illegal immigration who did it, Dobbs claimed that he’d reported the incident to the “very supportive” New Jersey state police. Well now those same New Jersey state police are telling a different story, that Dobbs’ house was likely sprayed by random gunfire from people hunting in the area, a relatively common occurrence:

In a phone interview conducted yesterday, Sgt. Stephen Jones, a NJ State Police spokesperson, chuckled out loud after he heard about Dobbs’ account of the gunfire incident. Jones commented that he “wouldn’t classify it [the gunfire incident] as very unusual.” He also confirmed that there are hunters in the area, and stated that, “at this time of year hunter [shooting] complaints go up.”

He observed that in the ongoing police investigation sparked by Dobbs’ complaint, “nothing has been determined [regarding] what the intended target for this bullet was.” Nor did Jones confirm whether the shots near Dobbs’ house appeared to be an accident or intentional.

Another New Jersey State Police spokesperson, Sgt. Julian Castellanos, noted that “it’s a wide open area and there are hunters in the area.” Castellanos explained that the bullet had hit the house in vicinity of the attic; it “hit the vinyl siding and fell to the ground” without penetrating the vinyl, he said.

When asked to comment for this story, Dobbs disputed the New Jersey State Police’s account, saying in an email that “there was no hunting season underway three weeks ago.” However, an official at the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife Bureau of Law Enforcement confirmed in a phone interview that state hunting seasons were underway at the time of the gunfire incident three weeks ago.

Asked what he thought of Dobbs’ version of the gunfire incident, Sgt. Jones stated, “I’m really going to leave Lou Dobbs’ assessment to himself.”

Verdict: Lou Dobbs is full of shit, ever more so than he ever was before.
