And we’re not talking schwag.

Introducing Sativex, it’s a mouth spray with a peppermint flavor for medical weed patients that delivers a dose of THC without any combustion, making it even safer for the lungs than a vaporizer. If approved by the FDA, the highly concentrated substance could create pressure on institutions like the DEA to accept the facts: Cannabis does provide medical value, which would force a cascade of policy changes, effectively removing it from its current Schedule I classification. However, unless it’s cheap, patients will be better off with the original product, the formula of which has remained virtually unchanged for thousands of years.

That will then allow researchers to isolate specific genes, which is good for both recreational smokers and chronic patients alike.

For the latter, it could lead to the development of pot strains that deliver just the medicinal properties without the fun-getting-high effect, but for connoisseurs, the cultivation of super pot will become very possible.

This decision was in response to a petition filed way back in 2002 seeking to have cannabis reclassified, but according to the feds, weed has “no currently accepted medical use.” REALLY?

By keeping it caged up as a Schedule I substance, it’s almost impossible for researchers in the U.S. to study it further, leaving the good herb in a state of limbo. For the lucky few that have gotten samples to test—including the government’s own National Institutes of Health—along with smart people in other nations without such restrictive policies, the preponderance of evidence overwhelmingly contradicts the DEA’s findings. Meanwhile, a plethora of HIGHLY ABUSED, opium-based drugs like OxyContin and Percocet, are not only Schedule II, but also sold legally.

Basically, it will save money, resources, and give police the opportunity to focus their energies on real crime. It could also bring a semblance of equality to a criminal justice system that is currently out of whack and has been since pot was prohibited more than seven decades ago.

Although it’s true that blacks are imprisoned for weed-related offenses at much higher rates than whites, back in the day, officials were more concerned with villainizing Mexicans. Mr. Soros explains:

Racial prejudice also helps explain the origins of marijuana prohibition. When California and other U.S. states first decided (between 1915 and 1933) to criminalize marijuana, the principal motivations were not grounded in science or public health but rather in prejudice and discrimination against immigrants from Mexico who reputedly smoked the “killer weed.”

What Mr. Soros didn’t mention is that the word “marijuana” itself was used to help promote this racial defamation. Before that it was simply known by its less stigmatized botanical name: cannabis. (Photo: Ana Botella Crew)

Good news right? Not for Dr. “Killjoy” from Duke University who said: “I don’t think I would ever encourage a patient to smoke anything. Can someone explain how is it that a doctor from a major university never heard of a vaporizer?

The legal herb mixture is reportedly causing chaos amongst the youth with 30 new cases of severe reactions in St. Louis that include hallucinations, nausea and vomiting, making real weed a much safer alternative. Still, for some reason, kids in Missouri love this crap and so officials are responding the only way they know how: fear and panic!
