For their January issue, Steven Meisel is helping Vogue Italy inject a bit of humor into the generally rigid pages of their high-end publication with a QVC-inspired editorial that playfully nods at the programming our grandmothers (and Midwesterners) all love so much.

No hideous housewares, shitty TVs, or faulty ladders here – just the latest, most unaccessible 2012 collections from designers this season.

Complete with elevator music and pretentious hosts, the girls model everything from Louis Vuitton to Versace. Thanks for rubbing it in, assholes.

In the world of high-fashion shows where catwalks are most often littered with pale, scowling 90-pound  models, the creative team over at SockBox legwear are breathing some seductive old-world nostalgia into the runway with their sultry mélange of stockings, garters, and blindfolds.

Kicked off with a light, yet crotch-tingling display of bondage, the ladies then bravely file down the stage wearing nothing but their intimates and a small strip of fabric across the eyes – no easy task, especially in six inch pumps. Big time hosiery fetishist? The party doesn’t stop there, be sure to also peep their extensive Film Noir Luxury lookbook featuring a girl-on-girl display of the same collection.

Now that the American version of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is finally out, cinematic geeks and Lisbeth Salander fanatics of the Western world galore are rejoicing with everything from stark H&M clothing collections to satiric Funny or Die parodies.

This latest ode comes in the form of a stylized 69-second fashion clip shot by Billy Rood, an apparent homage to the films dark heroine, though I personally think they could’ve done a lot more than just outfit some semi-androdgynous girl with a leather jacket, mohawk, and a bunch of facial scrapes. Lisbeth is like a hundred times more badass than that. But nice try!

Streaked makeup, ripped stockings, and that awkward moment when you can’t find your other 6-inch pump under some snoring dude’s bed…

They’re simply inevitable little checkpoints in almost every woman’s life at some time or another. Which is why I couldn’t help but fall in love with Harvey Nichols London’s latest campaign, taking the same ‘shameful’ concept and flipping it into a cheeky nod to all the ladies out there who’ve been caught in similar situations. Now if only they sold a product to make us forget it happened entirely…

For their latest story in an ongoing documentary segment called “Fashion Week Internationale,” Vice takes to the streets of the worlds big-booty and cocaine capital, Colombia.

The series compares the worlds of high fashion Colombian modeling – where mounds of fake yip center the runway and “sleeker, more European” style girls are preferable – and then the more authentic catwalks featuring curvy women, both in naturally and surgically altered forms.

Many of the women in the latter group are accused of having the “narco-aesthetic,” a term made popular with the continued glorification of Colombia’s most infamous icon, Pablo Escobar. At one point the interviewer even takes a trip to his brother Roberto’s house, but I was far more interested by urban pole dancing and the close-up imagery of botched ass implant surgeries. Shit is loco.

What do you get when you mask two hot blonde twins, strip them of most their clothing, and then set them loose in an opulent mansion? The makings for a perfectly alluring editorial of course, slightly reminiscent of an Eyes Wide Shut soiree, only much more exclusive.

Titled Invitation Only, identical sisters Maddie and Thierney do what I imagine most twins would when left to their own devices – don blindfolds, stand around in top hats, and lay about on luxe carpeted steps staring into one anthers eyes. Because it just wouldn’t be fashion without fetishism and suggestions of incest!

It also provides the ACLU’s phone number (212 607 3300), a how-to for turning it into a DIY, vinegar anti-pepper spray and tear gas defense rag, and more… and it keeps you warm. “Fold bandana in half horizontally to use as half-face mask. Measure against face and cut eye holes to use as full-face mask.” Nifty.

The only issue is that it’s $16.50 and will be shipped in 2-3 weeks, so, it’s not going to come in time for remember, remember the 5th of November. Willy Bloomy chase the protestors out of Zuccotti Park by then?

The ‘Sleek and Destroy’ shop promises that “For every bandana ordered one will be sent to one of the Occupy branches worldwide. Double your effect and increase the anonymity!,” closes off with the full “We are ANONYMOUS” line, and sells other Anon schwag, so it’s up to you whether you’re comfortable cashing out for this particular “OWS™”.

After getting a first glimpse of Agent Provocateurs Soiree line at the start of the month, the infamous house of lingerie brings us yet another captivating video from the collection, though this time it’s a little more nightmare than fantasy.

Set in a chicly secluded modern home, we see a lone woman go to answer the phone in an elegant robe, only to be met by silence on the other end. As she walks away, the phone rings again, though this time the sound of wild female laughter ensues, and the rest is like something out of a terrifyingly sexy fun-house. Pairs of provocatively-clad women begin to pop up all around her, like automatic targets behind a carnival shooting rage, their outfits progressively more intricate and refined with each appearance.

Helpless before the gang of AP intruders, she eventually succumbs to their world of fringe, chains, and leather, where they transform her into the shimmering queen of the crew. A little scary perhaps, but still a much better alternative to the Boogey Man.

Looks like an outtake of Trash Humpers, with CGI fire fingers. What does it mean? Some sort of metaphorical narrative, we gather. Proenza Schouler: It’s the Native American-ish kitsch-threads you wear when a wall-eyed, hick-accented Amuuurican is edging on fiddling you, young one!
