GHOST Exhibits ‘Then and Now’

NYC graffiti legend GHOST is showing brand new work, but if you want a drippy trippy canvas or remixed MTA service announcements, snag ‘em up because they always sell quick. The new layered pieces “enter new territories” but retain “something of the old intensity” of Cousin Frank’s graf days. A little bit old, a little bit new, a little bit of crazy hue. “Then and Now,” GHOST, Sep 8 – Sep 18, TTUnderground, NYC

Art: Graffiti Vandalized Subway Maps

Having graffiti writers draw on NYC subway maps isn’t all that original and has been done countless times, all of which we’ve dutifully covered, but there’s still something appealing about them. So, here’s some of the latest additions by storied bombers to Dirty Pilot’s ‘Map Quest’ exhibit. They’re almost guaranteed to turn a profit.

NYC Subway Maps by Former NYC Subway Painters

Graffiti writing legends QUIK and GHOST bombed some NYC subway maps that should keep both RTW and RIS fans happy. Cop their work and some other really collectible graffiti art via Dirty Pilot’s backroom gallery.

New GHOST Canvasses

Former NYC graffiti bomber and color manipulating artist, GHOST, has a new series of canvasses for sale on Dirty Pilot. If the last show he did is an indicator of his sellability, better act fast.

GHOST’s Meta-Graffiti Pieces

Long time graffiti fixture PJAY has an ongoing project where he gets fellow writers, GHOST in this case, to use labels from original cans of vintage spray paint like canvasses and paint directly on them. He then frames the work and sells it on eBay at a pretty reasonable price considering Cousin Frank’s talent and storied history of destruction. There’s a whole bunch to choose from here and click the images above to see our recommends. |What You Write|

GHOST Paintings At DirtyPilot

Ghost “Subway Poster Painting #9”, Acrylic and Spray on NY Subway Poster, 2008. Measures approximately 11”x17”
Former property destroying vandal GHOST is showcasing am amazing series of paintings and drawings on dirtypilot.com. The super colorful work features Cousin Frank’s signature graffiti styled letter forms and ghastly characters spread across a variety of mediums: canvasses, subway posters, paper, etc. But better head over there quick, the online gallery of work is steadily selling. The subway poster series are especially dazzling, some of our faves after the jump.

GHOST In Seattle

Despite being sponsored by culture-killing usurper car brand Scion, GHOST’s solo show of new works at the BLVD Gallery in Seattle will be worth a visit. The obscure wrecker of public and private properties since the 70′s, creates some grotesquely beautiful characters and hyper-colorful landscapes. The exhibit opens April 11th and runs through May 3rd. For the purists and nostalgia ridden among you, here’s some GHOST outlines still running in the F train tunnels in Queens after the jump. |KET’S 12oz.|
