Former Israeli soldier, Eden Abergil, doesn’t understand why everyone is making such a fuss over the photos she posted on Facebook of herself smiling wildly alongside blindfolded Palestinian detainees with the caption: “IDF – the best time of my life.”

An IDF spokesperson condemned the images, but said there’s nothing they can do because her service is up.

Meanwhile, a human rights group posted photos of other soldiers also posing shamelessly to show that this is not an isolated incident, but a widespread problem.

Ever since their brutal attack on a humanitarian flotilla bound for Gaza, Israel’s government press office has been in spin mode. In addition to demonizing protesters with doctored photos and disinformation, they also released a music video to reporters mocking the incident. Ha, funny right?

NO! They’ve since apologized for the “We Are the World” parody, claiming: “The contents of the video in no way represent the official policy of either the Government Press Office or of the State of Israel.”

But according to the side with the casualties, the soldiers shot first. Ultimately, no weapons were found aboard, although David Frum would like to remind you all that they were carrying concrete, which of course is a war-making material. Regardless, most everyone agrees that there are better tactics Israel could have used to maintain their blockade of Gaza than to attack and then detain journalists and foreign nationals from around the world.
