Jason Clay Lewis - Tattoo Baby

Artist Jason Clay Lewis sculpted this baby from rubber, plaster and disaster. With Koi drowning in dark waters, the Virgin dripping a gas nozzle and sticky seagulls fluttering amok all over him, Tattoo Baby is one cutie pie bundle of pure shame. See more tattoo parts below. Read more »

Rat Poison Virgin Mary Is ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’

Considering how much outrage the elephant dung “Holy Virgin Mary” caused back in 1996 when then mayor Rudolph ‘Goebbels’ Giuliani promoted himself to art czar and tried to shut down the the Brooklyn Museum, chances are this “d-CON Mary” is likely to summon the wrath of area Catholics as well. The sculpture, plastered with rat poison packages and “prominently displayed bar codes,” is featured in Jason Clay Lewis’ “Drop Dead Gorgeous” exhibit that opens this Thursday at 31GRAND gallery, alongside his life reaffirming skull pin-ups. The artist employs Christian imagery to highlight the “commercialization of religious iconography” and more importantly, to piss off people like Sarah ‘Pentecostal’ Palin.
