Marc Ecko Isn’t Down With Talking About His Debt Yo!

Although he’s doesn’t mind droning on about creativity or cushiony subjects related to his partially-owned businesses, Marc Ecko would rather not discuss his debt, at all! And who can blame him? He gets questioned about it around the 5:00 mark, but the uneasiness really unfolds at 6:50, when pigeon-recyler and inquisitor, Jeff Staple, asks him if he has any regrets. |Video via Hypebeast|

Model Volunteers Help Promote Streetwear Fashion

Along with more pigeon apparel, Jeff Staple’s fall and winter collection is focused on community service or something. Observing “that as unemployment started going up lately, many people, of all ages, were heading back to the volunteer workforce,” Staple wanted to highlight this “silver-lining,” so he put some do-gooders to work. His new lookbook features volunteers from God’s Love We Deliver, Housing Works, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society modeling his “Community Works” line alongside brief interviews about helping less fortunate folks.

Pigeons Locked Up to Sell Sneakers

As though having their image copy and pasted over and over again wasn’t bad enough, some live pigeons have been imprisoned in promotion of Jeff Staple’s new release. LimitEDitions, a Barcelona shoe shop, created a display cage flapping with the iconic city bird and Staple’s latest iteration of pigeon apparel for New Balance. This avian abuse needs to end in all its forms. |Hypebeast|

Complex expands on Jeff Staple slapping his pigeon icon and colorway on a bunch of other products, pointing out it’s use on Nike socks, a Lomo toy camera and an Amp energy drink mini fridge. |Complex|

Jeff Staple’s Pigeon Shits On Another Brand

Continuing to milk the hype once associated with his pigeon-inspired logo and colorway, Jeff Staple collaborated with Kangol on a shit-covered safari hat. The 5-panel, neckflap-equipped “Pigeon Sunhat” shares the same design and style that Staple has used with so many brands already: Nike, New Balance, New Era, Converse, not to mention his own. So if you’re into streetwear history, this $77 cap might help protect your neck while outside your local boutique this summer. |Hypebeast|

Staple Highlights Hip Hop Icons for Hood Points

Ping-pong champion and pigeon recycling designer Jeff Staple adds his two cents to the ever growing trend of slapping rappers on t-shirts for the streetwear brand’s latest collection. Included in the Spring 2009 range are homages to Hip Hop heavyweights Jay-Z, Nas, and the Notorious B.I.G, as a set of “highlighter tees.” Don’t expect block-huggers to be flooding the Reed Space anytime soon. Nas and Biggie after the jump.

Jeff Staple Does A Copy and Paste for New Balance

You’ve know you’re officially a hip footwear designer when you can take an image you did for Nike a few years ago, and just slap it right back onto another sneaker for a whole other brand altogether. In a desperate attempt to attract rioters that helped make the Pigeon Dunk relevant, hot shot creative Jeff Staple is working on a New Balance 575 that will also feature the iconic city bird. To really keep things fresh like rat droppings, Staple is using the same colorway as he did with the Dunk, making this the easiest copy and paste sneaker design the designer never had to design. Now that’s skills. |HighSnobiety|
