Pigeons Locked Up to Sell Sneakers

As though having their image copy and pasted over and over again wasn’t bad enough, some live pigeons have been imprisoned in promotion of Jeff Staple’s new release. LimitEDitions, a Barcelona shoe shop, created a display cage flapping with the iconic city bird and Staple’s latest iteration of pigeon apparel for New Balance. This avian abuse needs to end in all its forms. |Hypebeast|

Complex expands on Jeff Staple slapping his pigeon icon and colorway on a bunch of other products, pointing out it’s use on Nike socks, a Lomo toy camera and an Amp energy drink mini fridge. |Complex|

Jeff Staple’s Pigeon Shits On Another Brand

Continuing to milk the hype once associated with his pigeon-inspired logo and colorway, Jeff Staple collaborated with Kangol on a shit-covered safari hat. The 5-panel, neckflap-equipped “Pigeon Sunhat” shares the same design and style that Staple has used with so many brands already: Nike, New Balance, New Era, Converse, not to mention his own. So if you’re into streetwear history, this $77 cap might help protect your neck while outside your local boutique this summer. |Hypebeast|
