Josh Keyes Destructs Nature for ‘This Is Fly’

Artist Josh Keyes, who depicts the post-apocalyptic destruction of nature by man to a disturbing degree, landed the cover story for digital magazine This Is Fly. He discusses his “terrifying” visions of things to come and why sharks are a lot like corporations (pg.77): “Beautiful and deadly, the shark has taken on the role of society, or more specifically, corporate greed and power: thinking of the ocean as the world and the sharks a company or nation that is at the top of the food chain.” |This Is Fly|

Animals In A Frenzy, Get Scorched

Artist Josh Keyes continues to create his post apocalyptic environmental landscapes that certainly illustrate the dangers of climate change better than Earth Hour. The image above is titled “Frenzy” and there’s a variation of that combustible theme called “Scorch II” after the jump.

Illustrating Post-Apocalyptic Nature

Artist Josh Keyes creates work that appears to depict a I Am Legend type scenario where only the animal kingdom is left to struggle amidst the deluge. The only remnant of human civilization is our graffiti scrawled junked out cars and monuments. Highlighting this environmental interplay is this new print, The Call I”—based on an acrylic original. Released in an edition of 750, the giclee print measures 20×26.5 inches and sells for $175. Click below for a preview of the artist’s follow up work, “The Call II,” that’s still only available as an original. |OMG Posters|
