Rehabbed Falcons Released In Central Park

Continuing his coverage of city hawks and wildlife, urban naturalist blogger James O’Brien of Yojimbot assisted with releasing a handful of rehabilitated kestrel fledglings on the Great Hill in Central Park recently. Check out how psyched the falcons are to fly off and eat some lesser birds. |Yojimbot|

Rehabbed Falcons Released In New York City

Urban bird saving naturalist blogger, Yojimbot, who once rescued a Peregrine falcon from imminent death under the Broadway Bridge, assisted in the release of rehabilitated kestrel fledglings this past weekend. After releasing about a dozen of the falcon family of birds in Central Park, the team headed up to Van Cortland park in the Bronx to release the rest. While there, he encountered some Park Rangers that were called to the scene to assist in an unrelated fowl incident: “Someone had apparently tried (and failed) to sacrifice a chicken and they were trying to capture it,” writes Yojimbot. Below are just a taste of the stunning collection of photos he shot that would make the Audubon Society and National Geographic jealous. |Yojimbot|

Bike Designer Beef

Across almost any industry one fact remains a constant: companies rip each other off all the time. But usually they take the time to tweak shit or at least mask it so it’s not a total and blatant knock-off. Not so in this case, where a bike designer for Kestrel (think high end space age type frames), posts some damning evidence of his designs being jacked by another company on two occasions. After reading through and seeing the side by side examples, common sense says this dude has a case. Moral of the story: make sure you’ve got your patents squared away.
