Drunks Become McCarren Park Attraction, Residents Not Happy

Earlier this month, New York Shitty posted several photos of passed out vagabonds snoozing all over McCarren Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. But they’re not just an eyesore. They smell and poop all over the place, even near the children’s playground.

The Brooklyn Paper picks up on the story and reports that over a 100 people lodged complaints at a recent community meeting against the congregation of winos, some of whom use the sprinklers as showers and the trees as toilets. “I just find it visually displeasing. Some of them are passed out and they urinate on the trees. I don’t want my son crawling around where they peed,” said one Greenpoint mom.

And apparently, the conditions aren’t just bad for human babies. This baby squirrel was rescued from the park after it got separated from its parents. (Photo: New York Shitty)

The Dominatrix of McCarren Park

Smoking cigarettes in NYC parks is illegal, but there’s no law against a sub wearing a collar and openly serving his dominatrix as seen in this video. Not surprisingly, this footage was shot in McCarren Park and in keeping with the Gotham’s time honored tradition, no one appears to care.

Cardboard Fight Club Battles In Brooklyn

Dozens of combatants converged in McCarren Park yesterday to beat each other mercifully as a crowd of bystanders shouted words of encouragement. The Cardboard Tube Fighting League came to north Brooklyn as planned, drawing competitors in all sorts of corrugated armor and costume to hit one another with regulation cardboard “swords.” Besides a lot of trees, it’s pretty safe to say nobody was hurt. Cardboard Combatants to Clash in McCarren Park

The west coast-based Cardboard Tube Fighting League is coming to Brooklyn, offering a safer, legal and less aggressive alternative to the mixed martial arts battles of Ultimate Fighting Championship. Next Sunday, cardboard tube combat takes place in McCarren Park following a Saturday tournament in Philadelphia. Competitors are encouraged to bring cardboard armor and other costumes, but “no outside tubes allowed” lest someone does battle with any weapon sturdy enough to do damage.

Also, bring “water, cameras, video cameras, name tags & positive social attitude.” And although it’s a free family event, it’s suggested that only “only children above the age of 5” actually participate because “welts and possibly bruises” can be expected.
