Miroslav Tichý at the International Center of Photography

 

Miroslav Tichý defines poetry as a mistake and “for that you need a bad camera.” His were scrapped together from tin cans, shoe-box cardboard, toilet paper rolls, cigarette boxes and elastic bits with toothpaste-and-ash-polished plexiglas rounds for lenses. The result: thousands of dreamy landscapes and secret snaps of city women. Hidden until recently, they are on display at the International Center of Photography. Read more »
