Os Gêmeos Are Back in NYC

And it’s not to liberate their Deitch wall. The Brazilian twins are collaborating on a brand new mural in Chelsea with legendary artist Futura reports Arrested Motion. Crack photographer Liam Quigley visited P.S. 11 today and snapped shots of Os Gêmeos in action. Os Gêmeos Are Just Kids

Documentary series D.I.Y. America now includes an episode with the Brazilian graffiti twins Os Gêmeos. Check the technique as they “make a painting” every Saturday and Sunday and see why they are just like kids (only, you know, handier.)

Speaking of Os Gêmeos, as noted, the mural they did at the Deitch wall is so beloved that it’s safely tucked away behind Shepard Fairey’s “These Parties Disgust Me.” Paul from Deitch Projects said their mural is going to stay there indefinitely… which could be a long time.

Os Gemeos Unveil ‘Arms of an Angel’

The graffiti-painting Brazilian twins aka Os Gemeos opened up a new exhibit earlier this week at Milan’s Patricia Armocida gallery. Entitled “Nos BraÃ§os de um Anjo,” which translates to “In the Arms of an Angel,” the show features canvasses, sculptures and all sorts of cool work that is much better explained by the gallery of photos below than my words.

Tape Artist Sam Bassett Gets Really High

Whereas most vandals are content sidebusting or going over noteworthy pieces, Sam Bassett tries to top them. The recently arrested street artist taped his signature symbol high above the Os GÃªmeos mural painted this summer on the corner of Houston Street and Bowery. Lest you wonder how he reached such great heights, an accomplice filmed Bassett scooting back and forth along the wall, suspended by a rope.

Os Gêmeos Finish New York City Mural

Yesterday saw the completion of Os Gêmeos mural on the corner of Houston Street and Bowery. Despite the “toy that scribbled in a tiny corner” of the painting, the mural was cleaned up and finished less than ten days after the earlier Keith Haring tribute was whitewashed. Once again, street art documentarian Luna Park was out early this morning to catch a flick of the completed piece.
