Making a fool out of aging Hip Hop editor Elliott Wilson and the blog he doesn’t really own, Rap Radar, is almost too easy at this point, but we’ll gladly oblige. Less than an hour ago, the loud-mouthed editor-turned-aggregator posted a new track by Eminem called “Elevator” and mentioned that “PR” was going to make him pull it any second. Apparently he knows his boss real well.

After tweeting the leak to him, Eminem’s manager strangely enough, Rap Radar’s backer, (P)aul (R)osenberg, must not have been too pleased since both the track and the entire post were removed. Why not just cut the audio? Ha!

While it’s true that they’re not the most internet savvy bunch—hell Rap Radar can’t even get a properly functioning search box on their well funded website—who would have thought they’d be so dopey as to forward internal emails detailing the ease of getting one of those Eminem “exclusives” they so brazenly boast about? As you can see by this very short exchange between the site’s whipping boy and Editor-In-Chief Elliot Willson, all it takes is an email to Rap Radar sugar daddy and Eminem’s manager, Paul Rosenberg, who by the way, totally slept on the story.

Although he promised to get something out on Tuesday, it wasn’t until Wednesday they got some access. Oh and for the newly initiated out there, you can’t break a story that’s already been broken two days earlier. You merely scored an assist.

UPDATE: Paul Rosenberg responds. In addition to being a sugar daddy, manager, and gatekeeper, he’s apparently a PR maven too: “In response to your question, timing is everything.” I asked why it took so long to get word out.

eminemcover1 Why is Eminem dressed up as The Punisher on the cover of XXL? Who knows, since the movie was a flop, but it likely had to with reaching the comic book crowd and to highlight the Hip Hop magazine’s partnership with Marvel (see below).

eminem_vibe Featured on the cover of Vibe, the rapper was basically given free reign to explain his drug addiction firsthand. It was accompanied by photos by the always popular photographer Terry Richardson.

eminem_iphone_game No album drop would be complete without a specially designed ‘Relapse’ game for the iPhone. Control Eminem as he carries a 2-by-4 and beats down zombies.

eminem_am_video An uncensored version of Eminem’s horror music video, 3A.M., debuted on Cinemax, a first for the network.

eminem_family_guyVenturing into enemy Fox territory, an animated version of Eminem sat alongside the Family Guy’s quick witted baby Stewie Griffin this past Sunday to shamelessly promote the album.

eminem_kimmel A total of three appearances were booked on Jimmy Kimmel Live beginning last Friday night. In addition to performing songs from the album, Eminem flew in 200 autoworkers from Detroit.
