Last Supper Inspired Wu-Tang Art

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the only good thing to come out of Staten Island and one of the greatest hip hop crews of all time, the Wu-Tang Clan, design firm Two Rabbits commissioned this print from illustrator Honkey Kong. Entitled “Wu-Sciples,” it takes the Last Supper motif and depicts Ol’ Dirty Bastard as Jesus Christ, which is an apt comparison. If the FBI was around then, Jesus would’ve had a file too.

Art: Graffiti Vandalized Subway Maps

Having graffiti writers draw on NYC subway maps isn’t all that original and has been done countless times, all of which we’ve dutifully covered, but there’s still something appealing about them. So, here’s some of the latest additions by storied bombers to Dirty Pilot’s ‘Map Quest’ exhibit. They’re almost guaranteed to turn a profit.

Dickchicken’s Haring’ Is Every Bit As Horrid As You’d Expect

Some artists make it very hard to like their work. Take Dickchicken for example. Here’s his latest print that was created in homage to Keith Haring and couldn’t possibly be hung anywhere in public. Unless of course, someone is specifically in the market for a penis-poultry aesthetic, then… by all means.

Graffiti Print by REAS, TWIST and AMAZE

Continuing their exploration of graffiti as fine art, REAS, TWIST, and AMAZE released a limited edition print that is somewhat reminiscent of the infamous tag-smashed piece they* did on Houston Street. Produced by Edition Copenhagen, each of the (65) prints features original spray painted tags and comes signed/numbered by the artists. They’re also a lot of money. *REAS didn’t partake.

Miss Bugs Set To Crucify Captain America

Street artist and superhero collager Miss Bugs will soon be releasing a print version of “Carry Your Sins” featuring Marvel patriot and enemy of teabaggers, Captain America, who appears to be summoning his inner Jesus. The details about the 2-color silkscreen with “hand gold leaf on Japanese paper,” are sparse so stay tuned.

Imbue’s “Barbie RipOff”

I always knew there was something sinister lurking behind Barbie’s good girl image. Here she is as depicted by public space hactivist and street artist IMBUE. The limited edition ‘RipOff’ print comes hand signed/numbered and in an limited edition of 30 ($48).

If you like the artwork of Josh Keyes enough to buy it, pay attention. At 7:30PM EST tonight, Tiny Showcase is releasing a limited edition print and half the proceeds will be donated to help Haiti. |OMG Posters|

Scott Teplin Draws Up ‘Alphabet City’

Artist Scott Teplin has designed a series of tiny homes that fit inside the letters of the alphabet. Outfitted with slot machines, ice cream parlors, wave rooms and missile silos, the delicately drawn dwellings are more exciting than your average cramped apartment, albeit less practical. Limited edition letter prints for spelling out words or hanging solo are available for $80, while the full collection is bound in 26 signed copies of Teplin’s $2000 book, “Alphabet City.”
