Jewels for Jesus

After embellishing countless human skulls with Swarovski crystals, Quinn Gregory has completed his biggest work to date: a life-sized crucifix. The sculptor spent nearly five months building the Jesus piece and another ten covering it will nearly a quarter-million Swarovski crystals. Gregory explains the process for his “Infinite Hope” sculpture: “Through research, I learned that Jesus was 5′3″ tall (which made him actually a tall Jewish man at that time). I used cooper tubing to make his 5′3” skeleton and then built from there.” The radiant display is currently view at Open Concept Gallery in Grand Rapids, Michigan where it’s contending for $500k from the city’s Art Prize competition.

Models Get Rocked Up for Swarovski


Crystal cutting luxury brand Swarovski, unfurled it’s Runway Rocks fashion show in London on Wednesday. Models strutted down the runway in some really strange looking creations with the help of over a dozen designers, assembling a bleeding edge collection of very sparkly oddities that are par for the course in the fashion arena. For those of you that prefer a more traditional Swarovski offering there’s always these for purchase: Brother Bear, Pair of Kingfishers, and Large faceted Cockatoo.
