Here is a heart-warming story of true Christian fellowship at Christmas. Remember a few days ago when Sen. Tom Coburn called on his fellow wingnuts to pray that a Democratic Senator would drop dead, thus making them unable to vote to break the filibuster on the health care bill?

Well the wingnut masses definitely took it seriously and did some hardcore praying to Jesus, and when one Republican Senator (James Inhofe) didn’t show up for the vote afterward, this one wingnut was sure that God got confused, as God often does, and misunderstood the pleas for help from his flock and inadvertently killed a Republican instead of a Democrat. So the wingnut called in to C-Span and started to cry over God’s potential blunder.

My only wish is that the host would’ve responded by saying, “Yeah, Inhofe’s dead…pray harder next time numbnuts.” Also, how ridiculous is it that it’s virtually impossible to tell whether or not this was a prankster due to the fact that the right-wing in this country has become so ridiculous that it’s entirely plausible that this could be legit?

A recent poll found that voters are more likely to vote for a candidate running under the Tea Party umbrella than they are to vote for a Republican candidate, meaning that the wingnuts will use this as validation of their wingnuttery and thus force the party even further to the fringe and away from the mainstream. The poll also indicates that America is fundamentally retarded, something most of us already knew, but whatever. |Politico|

Today the teabagger movement announced, probably on stone tablets, just like Moses delivered the Ten Commandments, that they will be holding the first ever National Tea Party Convention in Nashville this February.

The featured speakers will be the two Golden Twats of American Conservatism, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann, whose combined intellect rivals that of a catfish and a Trapper-Keeper. We can’t wait for the plethora of hilarious Youtube videos sure to result from this gathering of intellectual titans. |TPM|

Well here’s a good way to close out a rough week! Michelle Obama recently appeared on Sesame Street to talk about gardening and healthy eating. Too bad Big Bird showed up demanding to see her socialist husband’s birth certificate:

You know, I’ve seen so many of these videos of wingnuts doing what wingnuts do at wingnut events, that you’d really think that I’d be sort of desensitized to them by this point, but this one kind of shook me at a bit. There’s not really any creative editing that went on here, it’s just a mild-mannered guy with a microphone walking around through the crowd letting “real” Americans, people like many of the people in the town I grew up in, speak their mind. What resulted is both frightening and exceedingly sad.

Now, it’s important to keep in mind here the the alleged purpose of this rally was to recreate the sense of patriotism and unity we collectively felt as a nation on the day after the Sept. 11th attacks, but what’s captured in this video is nothing more than rampant fear, paranoia and staggering ignorance. That said, these hopelessly misguided voices are the loudest in the fight for the direction of the nation right now, and it’s a fight that they seem to be somehow winning, which is exactly why watching this video is frightening and exceedingly sad.

Hey you know who loves the constitution? Teabaggers! Hell, they masturbate to the framed copies they keep above the urn holding Grandma Mable’s remains. They’re all up in that shit, braying endlessly about how the negro president wants to violate the constitution and take a big Chicago ghetto dump on America by taking away their guns and paying for abortions with taxpayer money and silencing the radio talk show hosts who tell them exactly how to think each day. But you know what they hate? People whose ideology differs from their own exercising their constitutional right to free speech by exhibiting dissent at Teabagger orgies of idiocy, like this guy who was almost crucified JESUS-style because he showed up at Glenn Beck’s 9/12 retard summit carrying a sign advocating the public option.

You know, I thought for a hot minute about donning some camo and a John Deere cap (I make a very convincing redneck!) and traveling to DC with a camcorder to go undercover at this shitshow, but then I remembered it was football season and that there was cold beer in my fridge and, well, my capacity for abstract thought would probably make me want to kill myself after spending five minutes in the midst of these morons.
