It is a dilemma for jewelers venturing into outdoor NYC advertising space: how to get the damn jewels up big enough in the layout to catch a pedestrian’s eye. If you’re Greenwich, CT jeweler Terry Betteridge, you idiotically replace your head with a honking ring that costs…$200,000. See, Greenwich and the old-moneyed Upper East Side (where this kiosk is located) are two places where this pesky recession/depression haven’t really affected holiday shopping all that much. So, it’s quite possible some wobbly NYC socialite will be receiving Terry’s head in a box for Christmas. Btw, here’s a pic of the always bow-tied Terry with his own head (far right).
