<p>I assume the homeless in Toronto are treated a lot like they are in New York City: Unless they&#8217;re willing to sing, tell a joke, or perform some other act of public embarrassment, they&#8217;re virtually nonexistent&mdash;except if the <a href="http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2009/08/homeless_man_enjoys_fashion_mo.html">Satoralist finds then fashionably relevant</a>. But not everyone is talented, so street artist <a href="http://www.fauxreel.ca/">Fauxreel</a> launched a guerrilla PR campaign to humanize these poor Canadian vagabonds as part of his &#8220;<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/18719819@N08/sets/72157622039798261/">Unaddressed</a>&#8221; series. <p>After <a href="http://animalnewyork.com/2009/06/posterchild-thinks-inside-the-box/">planting some trashed newspaper dispensers</a> with flowers and herbs, <a href="http://animalnewyork.com/tag/posterchild/">Posterchild</a> is looking at what the city of  Toronto is sowing. Instead of foliage, weeds, trash, even more trash, banana peels and &#8220;nada&#8221; are filling the city planters that Posterchild carefully cataloged. He posted some new photos of his latest project: flower planters built inside trashed and mostly unused distribution boxes for crappy free papers no one wants. <blockquote><p>Why? I can&rsquo;t say. I suspect that the box-owners are enforcing their territory, making rounds or complaints, maybe claims of safety issues. Who knows? But I hope that they were taken by garden-loving individuals who were excited for the possibility of free planters, soil, or plants&hellip;.That&rsquo;s a much nicer thought than the whole thing being pitched on principle.</p></blockquote>
