Cinematic Retelling of High Flying Stunt on Williamsburg Bridge

Back in July, acrobat and aerial silk artist Seanna Sharpe climbed way up on the Williamsburg Bridge and performed a death-defying act to delight of the curious crowds who gathered below.

Although some people uploaded snippets of the performance, none of the videos really gave it the justice it deserves, until now.

Creative film person RonenV cut together a short by using all the footage shot that day, including some exclusive stuff which must of been taken by her equally brave co-conspirator Thomas Skinner, and turned it into a masterpiece.

Prosecutors won’t be throwing the book at the acrobatic duo who climbed up the Williamsburg Bridge and put on a thrilling impromptu performance this past July as a crowd watched on from below. After initially facing two felony counts, their attorney was able to get the charges against Seanna Sharpe and Thomas Skinner reduced to misdemeanors and they will likely avoid jail time altogether. Aerial artist Seanna Sharpe and her less thrilling sidekick, Thomas “Savage” Skinner, were both charged with “criminal trespass and reckless endangerment,” for their high climbing hijinx Monday evening.

For six whole weeks, pedestrians and cyclists are gonna have to share the Williamsburg Bridge’s north pathway while improvements are done to the south pathway and its temporarily closed.

DOT To Fix Williamsburg Bridge Bike Lanes

Beginning today, the south bike lane on the Williamsburg Bridge will be closed for renovations that will include some resurfacing and much needed markings to separate cyclists and pedestrians. As Streetsblog notes, no “construction timeline” is available, but the DOT did ensure riders/walkers that during each phase of renovation, one of the two lanes will remain open. |Streetsblog|

Snow Lovers Hit Williamsburg Slopes

While much of the city was snowed in this past weekend, photographer Bryan Derballa was out with friends sliding on the Williamsburg Bridge. With those lawsuit-causing bumps long gone, the trio packed their own mini jumps to shred and sled the snowy pathway on old skateboard decks. Pedicab Crash Injures At Least Two

The City Room reports that a pedicab coming off the Williamsburg Bridge crashed with a taxi this morning on Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn. At least the driver and one of the two passengers were hospitalized with unknown injuries after the collision which nearly snapped the pedicab in half. |City Room|
