Unchill Cabbie Ordered to Pay Lesbian Couple $10K in Discrimination Suit

April 13, 2015 | Liam Mathews

A cabbie with zero chill was ordered by a judge at the city’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings to pay $10,000 to a lesbian couple he told to stop kissing or get out of his cab, DNAInfo reports.

The suit claimed that Mohammed Dahbi discriminated against Kassie Thornton and Christina Spitzer on September 18th, 2011, when he told them “keep that [behavior] for the bedroom or get out of the cab.” He told them that they were distracting him with their girl-on-girl action in the backseat. He called them sexist slurs when they got out of the cab without paying.

Thornton had just returned to the city from traveling when Dahbi picked the couple up, so they hadn’t seen each other in awhile. Spitzer told the judge that they couldn’t have been having a full-on makeout sesh because she had “just had massive dental work done.”

Dahbi is at worst a homophobe and at best guilty of violating the sacred duty of cabbies to be cool. Like, c’mon, dude, you get so turned on by the sight of two women kissing, one of whom just had massive dental work done, that you worry you might lose control of your car? That’s your problem, not theirs. He reminds me of the Chappelle’s Show sketch about black President Bush: “that shit is gross!”
