A Cathedral of Junk in Austin

Here’s a short documentary featuring the artist Vince Hannemann, AKA the “Junk King” and his tiny universe of found objects. Hannemann, who has been making found art since he was 16, began building the The “Cathedral of Junk” in 1988. Since then, the structure expanded rapidly and has grown to become a tourist attraction. Weighing in at over 60 tons, “Junkhenge” grows bigger every day (much to the dismay of surrounding neighbors and the city board). Woah.
