Sue Simmons Caught Cursing On Air: Blurts "What the Fuck Are You Doing?"
Millions of viewers watching the season finale of Medium on NBC last night got quite an earful from veteran anchor Sue Simmons. During a promo for the 11 O'clock News she is heard off camera, shouting, "What the fuck are you doing?" while teaser footage was rolling for an upcoming story about the rising costs of food. Although Simmons wasn't exactly caught red handed on video like Arthur Chi'en—who was promptly fired from CBS for letting a f-bomb fly—her voice was very audible and with today's hyper sensitive environment, not to mention the FCC fines, her career is so over. But you stay classy New York!
Update: She apologized on air at 11:06 p.m., "While we were live just after 10 p.m., I said a word that many people find offensive. I am truly sorry. It was a mistake on my part and I sincerely apologize." Update 2: Sue Simmons responds by email, blames it on Chuck!by ANIMAL on May 13, 2008

For what is shown and heard on Prime Time TV, and the fact that little ones should be in bed by 9pm, what she said is no worse. She appoligized, let it be. She is human and obviuosly some thing happened or someone did something

It's not so much the F bomb but the emphatic way in which it was said. It instantly changed my mind about her. Saying it in play is one thing but there was venom in her tone. Unless Chuck was groping her under the table, there's no excuse for that type of anger.

I am appalled at the lack of professionalism in general when I watch most news broadcasts these days. Bleary eyed newscasters stumbling over the words they read from a teleprompter. These people are paid a lot of money to do what they do. This "mistake" was inexcusable. Shouldn't all newscasters especially "veteran" newscasters be aware that this type of overlap is possible and expunge foul language from their vocabulary? Have we no standards anymore? Fire her!

I am appalled at the lack of tech knowledge of the youtuber.
Maybe Sue was asking about the guy holding the camera to the screen of another website to make a crappy recording of some newscaster saying 'fuck'.

I am shocked and appalled by Sue Simmons....I had the utmost respect for several years watching Channel 4 News because of her.....You would never think anything else but respect for her......I am so bummed!!!

I still would like to know who she was talking to and why she felt it necessary to speak to "anyone" that way... cameraman, assistant, Chuck himself,.. whoever... who was she talking to... she is apologizes to the world for "getting caught" belittling someone she works with.. what's up?

As a former camera operator for a local news station, I can attest to the assumption that she's likely "abusing" a production person. These primadonnas waltz in 10 seconds before air, and expect everything to be in place, and for everything to go perfectly for 30 minutes. Never mind when THEY fumble lines, or pronounce words incorrectly. I'm sure those f***-ups are the production crews' fault, too.

I am so glad Sue finally gets hers. I have watched the NBC news shows forever. I turn channels now when sue is on because she looks down on certain co-anchors. She has been repeatedly been RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL towards classy and professional David Ushery, now CBS Anchor also classy, and professional Maurice DuBois, classy, professional Janice Huff. I see it everytime I watch the news with her sitting next to "CHARLES" . She shows favor towards Chuck, Len Berman, Tom Browkaw, and a few others. I see a pattern with the way sue simmons relates to certain people. I am so glad she finally got caught. The obvious things that I see, many others say they see it too. She needs to be reprimanded. That was no slip of the tongue, She must talk like that often. LET HER PAY!!!

We LOVE Sue Simmons and are disappointed when we don't see her when we're in NY. Of course inappropriate cursing but come on now - let's have some perspective - The news is difficult enough to watch these days. And the news people are largely to blame. Let her cuss!

People, please pull out a dictionary before you start typing. Or at least call a "fifth grader" to help you. Come on! For crying out loud. Don't indict Sue for her short coming, if you can't even spell. That should be of greater concern to you than worrying about what Sue said. Make sure your children are learning appropriate vocabulary from you, and that they can spell correctly.

Gotcha, I am in5th grade. We just moved from New York City. I do art stuff and my Mom always watching news shows. So I have seen her allot. I think there are really really good people in the world and I think there are really really bad people in the world. And, I think most people are in the middle of this. We are just people. Think you adults. I here this F from good, nic and bad people. Kids think it’s kinda normal. Chill. Can’t you adults find something important to settle Food in 2018 or something?
