Vito Acconci Lube From The Best Chelsea Art Bus Tour In Town, Probably

September 2, 2014 | Marina Galperina

“WHat is the difference between NeO-MoDerNism and MoDErn AbSTraCtion???!! Why is some art SO EXPENSIVE?? Why is it so hard to find female artists in Chelsea???” We have often wondered about these things. Thankfully, artists Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw are going to give bus tours of Chelsea now. We’ve previously run into Jen and Paul strapped to things on beaches and in caves before, so we will totally jump into a bus with them. (Wait, I did? When? Oh. Really? OK. So this should be fun.)

The news arrived to our office today along with a pack of Vito Acconci warming LUBE — “making your art projects more comfortable.” And Vito would know all about that. The packaging also says, “‘SO NICE LOL!’ -satisfied artist.” We will use treasure this. Other items for sale on the Chelsea bus tour/mobile souvenir shop will include MONOPOLART, Marina Abramović’s DIY performance art kit, Richard Serra in a box, Jeff Koons Made In Heaven Baby Rompers, Richard Prince prints and much more. The 15 and 30 minute tours, totally unaffiliated with blue-chip galleries, will tour around some blue-chip galleries — starting this Thursday from 6pm to 9pm on 24th Street and continuing on Friday and Saturday evening.
