Olympic Champion Michael Phelps Smokes Top Ranking Bong
While many media outlets will likely focus on how Olympic gold champion Michael Phelps' bong smoking scandal will affect his million dollar endorsements or his eligibility for the 2012 Games, here at ANIMAL, we're more concerned about the relevant minutia, such as the high end bong he was caught smoking. Turns out the
aquatic, gold medal accumulator was puffing a ROOR in a photograph published by UK tabloid News of the World. The German made, thick tubed, award winning water pipe features frosted glass diffusers instead of the more standardized rubber grommets and retails for between $120-150. Judging from the photo, it looks like the bong is from their 'Red' series that come in 3.2 mm thickness and range from 13-17 inches, except this one was custom emblazoned—for an additional charge—with a "V". For victory perhaps? We'll see, even after a public apology, Phelps stands to lose out big time for acting like a 23-year-old.

Everyone should just leave Michael Phelps alone and give him some privacy. And I would love to hear President Obama come out in support of Micheal Phelps on this situation.

Yes, I agree. Everyone is making too big a deal out of this situation. It really is none of our business and I wish Michael could just have some privacy. Everyone should just leave Michael Phelps alone and give him some privacy. And I would love to hear President Obama come out in support of Micheal Phelps on this situation.

Michael Phelps is a loser. He tarnished swimming and set a bad example. He deserves a good drag through the mud.

I also agree with those other two that Michael Phelps should have some privacy, and Barack Obama should tell us something hopeful and important.

$120-150?!?! try 500+. And its a ground glass joint, not a "frosted diffuser," which you can't tell from the photo.

Michael Phelps should be able to do whatever he wants when he's NOT working. Not at if smokin' the ganja improved his performance. Leave the guy alone. BFD.
