For years, an old ferry boat in North Brooklyn has been hosting parties, shows, artist studios–even living quarters. But on Friday, while docked at 190 Morgan Avenue on Newtown Creek, the dream ended, as Fire Department officials busted the operation.
DNAinfo points to years-old articles in Gothamist and BushwickBK that extolled the ferry’s virtures, telling of “music, dance, and performance art” and revelers “losing their inhibitions” while partying all night.
What did FDNY have to say? “There were a bunch of people on there,” one official said. “It’s an old ferry.”
