8 White Establishments #BlackBrunch Should Protest At Next

On Sunday, about three dozen people gathered in New York City in solidarity with Oakland’s #BlackBrunch movement, a peaceful demonstration that sent activists into restaurants to remind captive audiences of the social injustices that people of color face every day. In New York, protesters hit up spots like Lallisse, Maialino and Pershing Square in Midtown Manhattan. Places, Yahoo News explains, that “protesters identified as predominantly ‘white spaces.'”

But considering that Midtown’s streets have also been the arena for some of the nation’s largest protests in support of Eric Garner and other #BlackLives, we wonder if the next #BlackBrunch protest might have a stronger impact if aimed at some of the city’s more historically conservative establishments. Sure, WhitePeopleLike brunches, but it takes a special brand of white people to frequent these places:
