Breaking: Governor Cuomo Kinda Makes A Political Decision

12.17.14 Bucky Turco

Throughout his reelection campaign, Governor Cuomo was tiptoeing on eggshells with foam shoes concerning a number of political issues. At one point, he was soooo worried about
saying something wrong that he refused to debate. Now that’s he’s firmly installed in Albany for another four years, the governor’s ready to say things again. Well, his Acting Commissioner of Health Howard Zucker is: “I cannot support high volume hydraulic fracturing in the great state of New York.” The grand announcement was made at a press conference earlier today. Zucker based his findings on a long-awaited study — it was first commissioned in 2012 — that’s expected to be released at the end of this month.

According to the Post Standard, Cuomo did have this to say about the historic decision:

“I will be bound by what these experts say because I am not in a position to second guess them with my expertise,” Cuomo said. “I am not a scientist.”

He also offered this show of support:

“This is self-executing between you two gentlemen? I have nothing to do with it?” Cuomo asked his health and environment commissioners, later adding: “I don’t think I even have a role here.”

More honest words have never been spoken by a politician.
