Street Art Is A Struggle: Learn About The Process With New York’s Cernesto

February 6, 2015 | Christopher Inoa

Brooklyn artist Cernesto, whose studio was among those evacuated during the Williamsburg warehouse fire, lays out his personal philosophies and approach to art in a new video. For admirers of graffiti and street art, the video offers a glimpse into, in Cernesto’s words, “the realistic struggle through which people can create great things.”

The New York of director Justin Levy’s video is bleak, muted and cold. It is Cernesto’s work shown throughout the video that gives it life, imagination and color. It does for us what graffiti did for Cernesto growing up, giving us “blips of some otherworldiness that show up.”
