Poll: New Yorkers Don’t Support Protests By the NYPD Either

January 15, 2015 | Bucky Turco

While the majority of New Yorkers are so over protests against the police (57 – 35 percent), an even greater number aren’t cool with the police protesting at the funerals of two slain cops (69 – 27 percent), according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll. They’re also not feeling PBA president Patrick Lynch and his nearly psychotic rhetoric:

Police union leader Patrick Lynch’s comments that the mayor’s office had blood on its hands are “too extreme,” voters say 77 – 17 percent, the independent Quinnipiac University Poll finds. There is no party, gender, racial, borough or age group which finds the comments “appropriate.”

So there you have it. While the city remains fractured over policing tactics, City Hall’s response, and the NYPD slowdown, a large majority of New Yorkers can find common ground on at least one subject: Patrick Lynch is an asshole.
