Giant, Possibly Morbid Lamp/Bear Installed in Manhattan

This 23-foot, 35,000 pound bronze sculpture Untitled (Lamp/Bear) by New York-based Swiss artist Urs Fischer is being installed now in the plaza outside the Seagram Building at 52nd Street. This button-eyed  yellow monster is here to, allegedly, “brighten up” our day, but from a head-on angle, it looks a bit like Teddy was executed in Old Sparky. No? (Photos: Will Femia)
