In Park Slope, where everywhere you turn it’s organic farm-to-table this and gluten-free latin bistro that, there comes a time when you just really need some greasy, good ol’ fashioned buffalo tater tots. But does that justify armed robbery?
After making a delivery on Lincoln place last Saturday night, a 26-year old driver returned to his car to find a very hungry thief helping himself to three hamburgers, a caesar salad, and said buffalo tater tots. The suspect, 31-year old Luis Garcia, threatened to beat up the delivery guy with his baseball bat, but then decided “he didn’t give a f— and was not in the mood,” according to police reports.
Garcia was apprehended shortly thereafter and was charged with robbery, menacing, criminal possession of stolen property, harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon, DNA Info reports.
It’s unclear whether the suspect was able to enjoy his meal before being arrested, and how his crime will be penalized. Maybe community service have him join the ranks of volunteer slave laborers at the Park Slope Food Coop?
