Class Action Filed Against Google: La AdSense, C’est Le Vol

May 24, 2014 | Peter Yeh

In a press release, law firm Hagens Berman has announced its filed a national class action against Google, claiming the company is unlawfully denying payments to web site owners who used Google’s AdWords.

This comes on the heels of allegations that Google had been unfairly banning accounts just before a payout; altering their widely used web analytics tool, Google Analytics, to report deflated numbers, reducing payments; and biasing the system towards those who could stir up the biggest shitstorm.

“The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleges that Google abruptly cancels website owners’ AdSense accounts often without explanation shortly before payments are due, and refuses to pay for the ads that ran prior to the cancellation.”

Seattle based, Hagens Berman has previously won prosecuted for state attorney generals against Big Tobacco, ExxonMobil for the Exxon Valdez oil spill, and was lead counsel for Microsoft’s defence during antitrust hearings.
