Cocaine use is so widespread in the UK that it’s literally in the water, according to the UK drug policy reform advocates Transform. Recent studies of drinking water have shown trace amounts of the metabolized form of cocaine in four different locations. The Independent reported:

Experts from the Drinking Water Inspectorate found supplies contained benzoylecgonine, the metabolised form of the drug that appears once it has passed through the body. It is the same compound that is looked for in urine-based drug tests for cocaine.

Unfortunately for any of you taking this as your cue to start a British tap water import company, the levels of the substance found in water are thousands of times less than what is shown to have an affect on humans. (Image: @spookman01)
