These Are The Five Locations With The Most Subway Dancer Arrests

July 15, 2014 | Sophie Weiner

We’ve been following the story of the NYPD’s crackdown on “showtime” subway dancers over the last few months. According to the new police commissioner, the performances represent “small crimes that have a big impact, a negative impact on the general public.” This morning, Capital New York published a list of the locations where one third of all arrests have taken place, including the station and number of arrests made.

For those who dance on the subway, you might want to avoid these spots: Canal Street tops the list with 23 arrests, Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights has seen 20, 125th Street on the A, B, C and D lines has had 17, 16 have been arrested in Union Square and 15 at 59th Street/Columbus Circle.
