UPDATED: Theater Replacing The Interview With Different Movie About Killing North Korean Dictator

Updated: This screening has been canceled. More to come…

Threats from North Korea prompted Sony to not just pull comedy The Interview from theaters ahead of its premiere Thursday night, but also to cancel all current release plans against the film, and now pretty much everyone is pissed that the “terrorists” succeeded in getting what they wanted.

The Interview stars James Franco and Seth Rogen and centers around a plot to kill North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un. One Texas theater is taking a stand against the North Korea hackers…by playing another comedy about killing a North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-Un’s father, Kim Jong-Il. The movie, of course, is Team America: World Police, the 2004 animated satire written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Richardson, Texas, will be playing it on Dec. 27th at 7 pm.

Meanwhile, publicity for the by-all-counts mediocre movie is at an all-time high. Perhaps it’s just a matter of time before someone leaks the full movie and every American watches it. America, fuck yeah!
