A coyote attacked a man walking his dog in Northern New Jersey on Sunday night, NBC reports. The attack happened in Norwood, making it the second coyote attack in New Jersey this month, and yet another coyote sighting in the tri-state area in recent weeks.

On April 14, a wild coyote was captured in Chelsea. Two weeks prior, the animal was seen on a roof in Long Island.

According to the Humane Society, rare coyote attacks tend to happen when “the offending coyote was being fed by people” or when people were “trying to rescue their free-roaming pet from a coyote attack.”
