Damien Hirst Is Slinging Pills On Upscale London Corner

Damien Hirst has a show of new work up in London that’s comprised entirely of giant pills. If that sounds like you’ve heard it before, it’s probably because he’s known for doing pill cabinet sculptures as much as he’s known for dead animals in formaldehyde and making colored spots. But these are BIG pills. Those were LITTLE pills.
Hirst tells the Guardian, “Pills are a brilliant little form, better than any minimalist art. They’re all designed to make you buy them.” He doesn’t elaborate, so there’s no way of knowing if that’s as stupid as it sounds. Aren’t almost all products designed to make you buy them, and if you’re an art collector, aren’t all Damien Hirst’s objects designed to make you buy them?
As far as pills being akin to minimalist art, I won’t disagree, and these things do look kind of great. Check out a slideshow above. (Photo: Promo Images from Paul Stolper Gallery)

In the most British way possible, The…

The "Southern Extension" will include "750 houses, shops, a new primary school and health care facilities." Controversy previously sprung up around the proposal in the North Devon Council.…
