David Shrigley Nominated for
the Turner Prize

And the Turner Prize 2013 nominees are in! The prize, organized by the Tate Gallery, is “UK’s most prestigious contemporary art award,” according to Tate.org. The winner gets $38,000 and everyone else on the shortlist gets $8,000. Also, This year, David Fucking Shrigley has been nominated. Also, these people:

The nominees are: Lynette Yiadom-Boakye for “Extracts and Verses” at Chisenhale Gallery for paintings (pffft); Laure Prouvost for Wantee commissioned with Grizedale Arts at Tate Britain and her installation for the Max Mara Art Prize for Women (mkay); and Tino Sehgal for This Variation at documenta (XIII) and These Associations at Tate Modern — relational aesthetics, performance, conceptual stuff (ok ok ok fine). But fuck those guys.
