Listen In: Emanuel and the Fear Made You a Playlist

June 1, 2015 | Prachi Gupta

“Listen In” is a weekly feature in which we ask musicians to curate a mixtape-length YouTube playlist of songs they’re currently digging. Click the big play button above to hear the whole playlist or scroll down to see and hear individual tracks.

The music of Emanuel and the Fear lies somewhere between chamber pop and orchestra rock, with a six-member band that styles the harmonica, flute and synth into folksy and contemplative melodies. The Brooklyn-based band made a big splash in 2009 with its first full-length album, Listen, then an 11-member orchestra. Since then, they’ve gotten leaner, released a few EPs and another studio album. You can catch them Joe’s Pub on June 9th.
