Focused on the world of boxing, photographer Holger Keifel has captured more than 370 fighters, promoters and trainers in his last six years of shooting. Now the German-born photographer is exhibiting a selection of these powerful and detailed portraits that include Don King’s iced-out jewelry and Evander Holyfield’s gnawed off ear among other fantastic mutilations. “The Face of Boxing” is on display through October 30th at the Prince George Gallery, 15 east 27th street.

De La Vega Chalks Up Museum Mile

Last night saw the 31st annual Museum Mile Festival take place. Along with all the museums going admission-free, 5th Avenue went car-free, opening up for music, crowds and a lot of sidewalk chalk art by James De La Vega. Check out the artist’s fishy drawings of Jay Z, Jesus, Don King, and a gay fish someone poorly labeled Kanye West. For more photos of De La Vega’s chalk art, click here.
