Just like with Keith Olbermann, MSNBC has suspended another one of their talky hosts according to Politico. Joe Scarborough also made political donations and although he did get the network’s consent once, he didn’t ask for permission each time, making him a very bad boy. This highly publicized, extremely temporary purge, should cast away any doubts as to MSNBC’s political leanings, right?
Just how stupid was MSNBC’s suspension of obviously skewed political commentator Keith Olbermann? He got paid during it.
A few hours ago, MSNBC suspended Keith Olbermann after finding out that he made personal political contributions to three Democratic candidates, which is against their absurdly strict policy, especially for a commentator as blatantly left leaning as him. So, they announced that freelancer Chris Hayes, who has filled in for the network before, would host the show until Olbermann returns. Um, one problem there. Read more »
While Fox News was airing the mentally challenged rantings of its morning show hosts, MSNBC was broadcasting highly intelligent assessments of terrorism, Islam, and the media’s complicity in muddying up the issues. Watch as Dylan Ratigan renders his colleagues speechless. Read more »
With all the alarmist, Xeroxed hoopla around nudity in Marina Abramovic’s current performance art retrospective at MoMA, MSNBC joins in. Apparently, “the artist says that’s she’s shocked by how upset people are by the nudity.” ORLY? As part of the main performance, Abramovic is remaining silent through the end of the exhibit in late May. Read more »
Shouldn’t there be some sort of rules for how long MSNBC’s correspondents can speculate wildly on every facet of a high speed chase without having any real information? Earlier, Contessa Brewer and Tamron Hall offered a play by play of a person driving fast down a LA freeway with cops in pursuit. Luckily it came to an end under a tunnel, totally killing their chance to drone on through the handcuffing.
Yesterday MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough was flying into Newark with his family when his flight’s landing was delayed significantly by an event on the ground at the airport: a political rally for New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine featuring President Obama. Scarborough did some venting via Twitter. Read more »
Everyone knows that if there’s one thing this country is lacking, it’s guns. That’s why Dean Allen, a Republican candidate to be South Carolina’s adjutant general, whatever the fuck that is, is holding a “machine gun social” fundraiser where like-minded, country-bumpkin fucksticks can join Allen for some good ole-fashioned shootin’! For $25 you get a twenty round clip to shoot from your choice of four different types of machine guns AND a BBQ plate lunch. Yeehaw! Read more »
One of the benefits of live TV are moments like this. This afternoon, MSNBC’s Brian Mooar attended the thoroughly right wing “Values Voters” Conference where issues like “countering the homosexual agenda” and “fighting the vast left wing conspiracy” are being discussed, when audience members asked him to leave. Unimpressed with the whole freedom of speech concept, security had to intervene after several attendees demanded he move his news reporting operation outside. Watch a clip of the attempted censorship after the jump. UPDATE: Video of a Fox reporter getting heckled added as well.
