Artist Evan Roth has love for the GIF. Here’s his set of ten new One Gif Compositions, all created from single vintage GIF from the Heather’s Animations archive, chronicling early GIFs from as far back as 1999. You can see A Tribute To Heather in the lobby of the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, through June 30. They’re so pretty. Watch them multiply and overlay, undulate and bloom, swirl and wave and… similarly attack your eyes in the an overwhelming manner that mimics the most current of trendy net art aesthetic while incorporating key early web artifacts.
