Hungarian physicist Albert-László Barabási published his study yesterday, and for an estimated 14 billion webpages, every one can be linked to another in fewer than 20 connections. Regardless of how many more pages get added, this degree of separation will stay constant, according to Barabási. Search engines and indexes keep everything tightly knit.
