ANIMAL London: Brooom, London’s Smallest Gallery

June 6, 2013 | Bucky Turco

Meet Frida Affer from Milan. This is her newly opened gallery on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, amidst all the street art. It’s called Brooom, a play on broom closet, and measures only 168 cubic feet which is equal to about 30 square feet. Turns out that “the shoebox space” it’s just enough room to give that artist, designer or creative a spotlight. Literally, there’s not quite enough room or much else, but the work. When ANIMAL stopped by, she had work from a fashion designer hanging in the space.

“From one minute to one month, our space is open and available to anyone looking for exposure in East London.” Interested in submitting? Here you go. (Picture: Aymann Ismail/ANIMALNewYork, Edit: Nate Cepis/ANIMALNewYork)
