Jack White Is Pressing Jay-Z’s “Open Letter” as an Actual Letter

Jack White has long gone to dizzying heights to make the releases on his Third Man record label as bizarre as possible. From memory, there’s the blues single by Stephen Colbert, a live album by Conan O’Brien, and that unforgettable ICP/White/Mozart collabo.

This, however, may present a new high (or low, depending on your perspective): Third Man will release Jay-Z’s “Open Letter,” a cut that didn’t make Magna Carta Holy Grail, as an actual, playable vinyl letter. I have no earthly idea what that really means, but Jigga seems pretty stoked about it. Watch his interview with Hot 97 below.
