Tomorrow, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on an amendment to the 2014 Defense Appropriations bill, which will determine the Pentagon’s spending next year. The amendment, sponsored by Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), would divert taxpayer money away from NSA surveillance of and collection of data from American citizens who aren’t under investigation, a practice that got widespread attention after the Edward Snowden leaks.
A website simply called Defund The NSA is encouraging concerned citizens to flood their representatives with phone calls and spread the word about the vote. Upon arriving at the website you are prompted to enter your zip-code which, will provide you with an example of what to send to your local representative as well the phone numbers in which you can reach them.
